Connecting Through Coloring
Draw is dedicated to my father, Charles Moertel, who never had the chance to create his children’s book.
Draw promotes creativity, empathy, and human connection by providing inspiration and empowering individuals of all backgrounds to draw a picture. By coloring you are building community, contributing to your own mental health, and adding a picture to the ever-growing children’s book my father never had the chance to create.
While Draw is an LLC, we focus on giving our profits and services to communities that have been subject to disinvestment, and charities that have a focus on solving social issues and curing diseases that plague our society.
From India to Minneapolis
While studying social entrepreneurship in Bangalore, India in 2013, our founder Steve, witnessed first-hand the difference one person can make in the world. He remembered his father, a member of the Red Cross, Eagle Scout, and active community member who strived to make a difference in the lives of others. One of his goals had been to create a children’s book, however never had the chance after losing a battle to cancer.
Draw derived from a simple premise- an individual gets a blank sheet of paper with a prompt of what to create and draws a picture. The idea being that each picture is unique, and in essence is a page added to the children’s book Steve’s dad never had the chance to create.
Draw has found its way into corporations, coffee shops, schools, breweries, restaurants, theaters, parks, and homes across the world, while holding on to the same core principles on which it was founded.
Imagination is infinite. Draw places no boundaries for age, culture, ability, or any other self-doubt put forward. Draw inspires creativity and wonderment for anyone from age 2 to 200. No right or wrong, happy or sad, order or rules; just you.
Draw’s goal is to create a library of books and pictures around the world of people’s unique creations. Every picture gives life to a book Charles never had the chance to create.
Most importantly, this allows you to enjoy the magnificence of coloring on a fresh sheet of paper. We hope you set aside time for yourself, take a break from life, and delight in the simplicity of coloring.
A portion of Draw’s profits go towards local charities that focus on community building, mental health, and helping those who could benefit from a coloring book.
